I've been tutoring English to Koreans for 1 year in my previous job in the Philippines. Now, I'm currently teaching English starting from starters to advanced levels for almost 2 years.

Approach:

I always encourage my students to ask questions and gain a wider understanding of the subject they are studying, even if it's not strictly relevant to the syllabus they're following. I make this possible when I can offer a broader perspective of the subject matter that not only helps students to understand their work in a new way, but that motivates them to the pursuit of knowledge for knowledge's sake.
