I follow a hybrid tutoring approach. I ask for each student's needs with regards to time and content to be covered and I tailor my delivery system to best suited to each individual student but the basics of my approach are as follows: 1. Interactive Discussion: I explain the theory of the material and engage the students in a discussion about it to ensure their understanding. I may explain the concepts over and over again as needed and in different ways and styles till I am certain that the students have fully grasped them 2. Interactive Problem Solving: I solve as many textbook example problems as needed with step by step discussion. I do one or more assignment problems with step by step discussion as examples from start to finish and I let the students solve the rest of the problems on my watch and with my guidance when needed and correct them when they go wrong. 3. Private Homework: I give a few (not too many) homework problems of my own to the students to work on them for the following session and I discuss and correct them at the beginning of the following session before starting new material. I do not overwork my students with problems as I they have other courses to tend to and they need time to focus an studying them too. I just need to make sure that while they submit their assignments on time that they have the confidence and ability to solve problems on their own in order to do well on their tests. 4. Random quizzes: I like to give my students short random quizzes to test the freshness of the course materials in their heads 5. Exam Preparation: I like to help prepare my students for their tests (Midterm/Final as well as periodic tests if any) by reviewing the material beforehand and solving past tests (if available). I also like to put the in an exam setting and give them mock exams for further practice.
